HTC have introduced the new HTC Tattoo, an Android-based smartphone with a distinctive design which allows users to personalise all aspects of the phone, including hardware, applications and content.

Small and compact, the stylish HTC Tattoo fits snugly into the hand or pocket and features customisable covers, allowing users to design and purchase their own unique covers or search and select from popular cover designs. With changeable covers, users can alter the look of the phone to reflect their mood or individual tastes and make the phone truly unique.

“Everyone wants their own phone to feel like it was specifically made for them. The Tattoo, with HTC Sense represents an easy way to shape your own distinct mobile experience and really make it your own,” said Peter Chou, Chief Executive Officer, HTC Corporation. “The HTC Tattoo ensures that you can create the most engaging and appropriate mobile experience through simple yet powerful personalisation.”

Following in the footsteps of the HTC Hero, the Tattoo is the second HTC smartphone to feature the innovative HTC Sense - a new widget-based interface for operating your phone in a more simple and natural way. Built on three basic principles: Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected, HTC Sense creates a distinct user experience based around the way in which people live and communicate.

Make it Mine
‘Make it Mine’ allows users to create customisable widgets directly on the home screen, which can be personalised with a variety of designs and sizes. HTC Sense also features a new profile feature called ‘Scenes’, which allows you to create and switch between different Scenes that reflect different moments in your life. For example, you could create your own, “Out Travelling” scene which gives you access to the local time, weather and maps for a smoother trip.

Stay Close
The ‘Stay Close’ feature lets you manage your contacts via all the different sources you are accustomed to. When you view people, you can see all the different ways you have been in touch, including different email accounts, social networking updates and phone calls.

Discover the Unexpected
Sick of trying to find a needle in a haystack when searching through your contacts or email conversations? The HTC Tattoo lets you search just about anything in a simple and intuitive manner.. The dedicated Search button combs through tweets in Twitter, locates people in your contact list, finds emails in your inbox and searches through appointments in the calendar, so finding what you need is as simple as pressing a button.

HTC Sense allows you to stay close to the important people in your life by integrating your communications and applications including voice calls, emails, texts, photos and status updates into one consolidated view, providing innovative and fun phone experiences.

For complete connectivity on the move, the HTC Tattoo integrates Google’s innovative mobile services including: Google Maps, Google Search, Google Mail, and Android Market, where users can download thousands of popular applications and games. It also comes complete with a broad variety of hardware features including a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and expandable microSD memory to keep you entertained.

The HTC Tattoo will be available in Europe first at the beginning of October, and will be available globally in the following months.
